Workshop: Pitch Perfect

About the event

You've got a great product - but can you explain why a buyer should care in the first few minutes?

In this practical workshop, Claire Roper draws on 25+ years of pitching to major retailers and helping challenger brands secure listings. She'll share a simple framework for building a clear, commercially-focused pitch deck that buyers actually want to read.

You'll learn how to structure your story, avoid common pitching mistakes, and create a deck that's clear, compelling and built around one principle: be clear, not clever.

What this session covers:

  • What makes buyers say yes: the commercial thinking behind a pitch that lands in the first few minutes.
  • A simple, repeatable framework for structuring a pitch deck from opening hook to close.
  • The most common pitching mistakes challenger brands make with retail buyers, and how to avoid them.
  • How to build a deck that's clear and commercially focused, not just visually clever.

What to prepare:

If you have a pitch deck for your business, please come along with this ready to annotate/make notes based on Claire's insight. If you do not have a pitch deck, please have a think about and write down the key things you would include in your pitch deck to bring to the session.

This session is designed to give you clear practical next steps, so the homework is important!
