Meet The Buyer: The Black Farmer

About the event

Our Meet the Buyer sessions connect exciting up-and-coming food and drink brands with the buying teams at the UK's leading retailers and food service operator. They help challenger brands build their network, secure listings and get insider insight into the UK food and drink landscape.

These sessions offer a unique opportunity to secure sales, get invaluable feedback and build your professional network. They are only open to Mission Kitchen members.

In this session, we welcome The Black Farmer.

About The Black Farmer.

With two independent stores in Brixton and White City, The Black Farmer is a celebration of British farming with a twist- authentic, high-quality meats & baked goods with bold Caribbean flair, as well as selling their products to major retailers.

The Brief:

The Black Farmer, is interested in meeting with brands who are ready to stock in their independent stores, who have delicious products with a strong narrative, particularly:

  • Condiments (Interested in high-quality sauces/pantry items)
  • Baked Goods & Confectionary (Particularly interested in bakery, pies, and savoury baked goods)
  • Snacking (especially deli snacks, premium meat snacking, or savoury bites)
  • Fresh Prepared Meals (Highly interested in fresh ready meals and high-quality convenience)
  • Drinks (Open to exploring unique beverage offerings)
  • Street Food (Great alignment with vibrant, flavour-forward concepts)
  • Catering & Pop-Ups: (Keen to explore dynamic foodservice and pop-up collaborations)

The buyer is looking for products that are ready to supply, but is also open to meeting earlier stage producers to provide feedback or support on getting ready to supply.

Business Profile or Stage: We love supporting passionate, agile, and ambitious scale-ups or established community brands that are ready to bring unique, high-quality offerings to a broader audience.

Founder Demographics: Inclusivity and diversity are at the absolute core of our ethos. We are highly motivated to meet with and champion diverse, underrepresented, and minority-ethnic founders (including Black-owned businesses) who are shaking up the food and drink landscape.

Cuisines or Flavours: We have a massive soft spot for bold, authentic taste profiles particularly brands celebrating vibrant Caribbean flavours, multicultural fusions, or elevated takes on traditional British classics.

Sustainability or Health Claims: Brands that prioritise Gluten-Free / Coeliac-friendly products without compromising on flavour are a major priority for us. We also look for a strong commitment to high-quality ingredients and ethical sourcing.
